Joe has a long family history in the Canadian hospitality and tourism industry, and he continues to honour that legacy through his passion and commitment to the industry through the various roles he takes and his unwavering enthusiasm for lending his voice, insights, and expertise.
Previously Dean at Centennial College’s School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts, Joe led the most significant transformation in the School’s over 50-year history. He designed programs and operations in an immersive experiential learning environment to align graduates with the skills required to serve the future workforce needs of the tourism industry. Under Joe’s leadership, Centennial College became a global destination for world-calibre tourism programs.
Prior to joining Centennial, Joe held senior management roles at George Brown College’s Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts, including Director of Operations, Services and Partnerships. Before joining higher education, Joe worked in hotels and the restaurant industry both as an entrepreneur as well as in a management capacity.
With a Master of Education, a Bachelor of Commerce and extensive Executive Education, Joe is uniquely positioned to serve as a modern, strategic tourism industry leader with a distinct focus on bringing education, training and workforce innovation together to build a resilient, inclusive and future-forward hospitality and tourism industry workforce.
Joe serves on the Board of Directors at Tourism Industry Association of Ontario. He is Chair of the Performance and Nomination Committee on the Board of Directors at Tourism HR Canada. He also serves on the Editorial Advisory Board at SUSTAIN Magazine.
